For Life's Ceremonies & Celebrations

Naming Ceremony

The birth of your new born baby is such a joyous occasion. Once their birth is registered at your local Registry Office, it’s entirely up to you, as their parents or main caregivers, to choose how and when you christen your baby with a naming ceremony.

If you follow a religious belief or are a member of a religious community then your baby will usually be baptised or christened in accordance with these beliefs.

For families looking for a less religious or non-religious ceremony, a Naming Celebrant is the perfect choice for you and your family. I will write a personalised and bespoke service, that truly reflects your hopes, desires and wishes for your child, which can be conducted absolutely anywhere you so wish.

It could be an intimate gathering at home, in your garden, a woodland area, in a marquee, in a public building like a hotel, restaurant or a local hall; the world is your oyster!

Using a Naming Celebrant means there is no restriction on length or content of your ceremony nor when it takes place; it could be days, weeks, months or years after your baby is born. The ceremony structure is usually: welcome and introduction, reading or a poem, naming of child or children, parents’ promises, any promises by supporting adults and closing words. You can choose your own music, use symbolisms like planting a tree to signify a new life and family and friends can contribute as much or as little as you wish too.
